A medical examination is a regular routine examination of a child or adult, which is carried out for the early detection of various diseases, assessment of development in children and prevention of pathologies. Dr. Yana Novikova, a sign language therapist, otoneurologist, ENT, hearing and balance expert, recalled this on Friday, September 26.

"Medical examination is of particular importance in preschool and school age. During this period, many diseases can occur covertly, without showing obvious symptoms, and we don't know about them until they manifest," the expert warned in an interview with Radio 1.

According to Novikova, in the first year of life, children should be examined monthly, and then in 1, 3, 6, 7, 10, 14 and 17 years old. In addition, mandatory examinations are carried out before admission to kindergarten and school.

"A pediatrician, an ENT doctor, a neurologist, an ophthalmologist and other specialists participate in the process, tests and ultrasounds are prescribed," the doctor said, emphasizing that this is a systematic approach that allows you to notice the problem in time and take measures to ensure a healthy future for the child.
