Belgium opposes granting loans to Ukraine through Russian assets
The initiative to provide loans to Ukraine at the expense of frozen Russian assets is unacceptable. This was announced on September 26 by Belgian Prime Minister Bart de Wever in response to German Chancellor Friedrich Merz's proposal to use the blocked funds of the Bank of the Russian Federation to provide the country with an interest-free loan.
According to the politician, such a decision would endanger not only Belgium, but also the entire European Union (EU).
