The Investigative Committee has launched an investigation into the deaths of three fishermen in a fire in the Pskov region.

In the Sebezhsky district of the Pskov region, three men who arrived in the village of Kitovo for fishing died as a result of a fire. An inspection has been organized, according to the SU IC of Russia for the region.

According to the agency, three men arrived in Kitovo for recreation and fishing, staying at the house of a relative of one of them. On the night of Thursday, September 25, a fire broke out. An apartment building and outbuildings burned down.

During the extinguishing, rescuers arrived and found the bodies of two men. Later, the body of the third victim was found.

The preliminary cause of the fire in the UK is called a malfunction of the furnace equipment. Medical and fire-technical examinations have been scheduled. The exact cause and circumstances of the tragedy are being established, the Pskov News feed writes.

Based on the results of the inspection, a decision will be made to institute a criminal case.
