The Sovetsky District Court of Lipetsk has sentenced a 39-year-old man who brutally murdered his friend in front of her seven-year-old daughter. This is reported by the regional Investigative Committee and the prosecutor's office.

The murder occurred on February 18, 2025, in a 39-year-old woman's car parked near her home. The court found that the motive of the crime was jealousy. The young woman refused to reciprocate Lipchanin, saying that she had another man whom she wanted to marry.

"At the hearing, based on the evidence presented by the prosecutor, it was established that the defendant stabbed more than 50 people with a knife and an axe in the neck and head area of his acquaintance," the prosecutor's office said in a statement.

The woman died on the spot. Her seven-year-old daughter, who was also in the car, witnessed the murder, GOROD48 clarifies.

The court found Lipchanin guilty under paragraph "d" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Murder with extreme cruelty" and sentenced him to 17 years in prison to be served in a high-security colony. He also has to pay the parents and her eldest daughter more than 3.9 million rubles.
