Experts appreciated the interest of Muscovites in mushrooms and fishing
From January to September of this year, the volume of mobile traffic of Muscovites who visited websites and forums discussing mushroom sites, dates of mushroom collection and processing, increased by 44% compared to 2024. An increase in traffic (by 30%) was also recorded on sites related to paid fishing. This was told by Megafon analysts who studied the anonymized subscriber data and data from the Marketplace Analytics service.
Since the beginning of summer, the volume of traffic on websites and apps dedicated to these two activities has jumped by an average of 37%. Men are more actively interested in mushrooms and fishing — they account for 64% and 71%, respectively.
In addition, experts have found that sales of fishing products have increased by 238% over the past month. The demand for clothing and footwear increased especially strongly (+243%), as well as for fishing accessories (+120%). Rubber boots (+81%), gaiters (+15%), thermoses (+14%) and baskets (+11%) were popular among mushroom pickers.
Residents of the capital are also actively interested in outdoor recreation in general: in the forest, near lakes and rivers. It is mostly preferred by Muscovites aged 35-44 (43%). The 45-54—year-old category is in second place (21%), and the 25-34-year-old category is in third (17%).
