The Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE/ODIHR) has become an instrument of double standards and promotion of the Western vision of the purity of electoral processes. This opinion was expressed on September 26 by Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs.

"The OSCE/ODIHR has become an instrument of double standards, making biased assessments and promoting a Western vision of the purity of electoral processes that is very far from true democratic values," TASS quoted him as saying.

According to the parliamentarian, the bureau has discredited itself more than once in recent years and the issue of cooperation with it is long overdue.

"It is necessary to carefully analyze the feasibility of participation and cooperation with this structure," Slutsky added.

On the same day, the head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, noted that the OSCE/ODIHR does not protect rights in all areas, an absolutely closed and undemocratic organization. She noted that not a single observer from Russia was allowed to participate in the monitoring of the parliamentary elections in Moldova, and the OSCE/ODIHR did nothing about it.
