Rospotrebnadzor denied information about the increase in the incidence of AKI
On September 25, Rospotrebnadzor denied rumors about an increase in the incidence of acute intestinal infections (AKI), saying that a 10% decrease in the incidence has been recorded since September 1.
"Since the beginning of autumn, there has been no increase in the incidence of AKI in the Russian Federation. Over the past week, a decrease has been recorded — by almost 10%," the Telegram channel said in a statement.
It is specified that the incidence of acute intestinal infections for the entire year 2025 did not exceed the average annual level.
OCI includes many infectious diseases that are caused by various intestinal microbes. Pathogens can enter the human body with food, water, or through dirty hands and various household items.
Andrey Pozdnyakov, an infectious disease specialist and chief physician of the INVITRO clinical Diagnostic laboratory, told Izvestia on September 17 that the current epidemiological situation of cholera in Russia is absolutely stable. In 2025, isolated imported cases were registered.
