Trump announces signing of TikTok deal with China
On September 25, American leader Donald Trump signed a deal with the People's Republic of China (PRC) to sell the American segment of TikTok.
"I can say that especially the young people really wanted it (the signing of the agreement. — Ed.) happened. They didn't want TikTok to be shut down. And I myself, you know, got a little used to TikTok," he said, commenting on the event to reporters and signing executive orders in the Oval Office of the White House.
Trump noted that he also has an account on this service, which was created at the insistence of his associate Charlie Kirk, who died on September 10, 2025 as a result of an assassination attempt against him. The US president clarified that the presence on this platform since the beginning of his election campaign has contributed to the acquisition of a "record number" of votes from young voters.
Trump announced on September 19 that he had reached an agreement with China on a "certain" company that the American youth really wanted to keep. The next day, it became known that the implementation of this transaction had begun. At the same time, White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt clarified that the American side was 100% confident that the deal was ready and expected it to be concluded in the coming days.
On September 25, Trump called the course of business with Beijing "unprecedentedly good." He added that the United States has never been treated "properly" and "truly correctly," but now, in his opinion, this situation is changing.
