- The fourth bell: the results of the performance of the media teams in the Cup of Russia
This week, the clubs of the Media Football League finished their performances in the national cup. Two of the three teams managed to reach the fourth round. The results of the fourth season of bloggers in the Russian Cup are in the Izvestia article.
«2Drots»
Last season, the Samurai repeated their worst result in the history of performances in the Russian Cup — they were eliminated in the second round. In the current draw, they did it again. In principle, few expected more from them. The Drones are currently experiencing a clear crisis. In the sixth season of the IFF, which took place this summer, "2Drots" took only the third place in the group, which, it would seem, should have passed with ease. As a result, the team was forced to play in the play-off matches, where they lost to Lotus. In the current Media League Cup, one of the country's oldest media clubs has never lost in three matches, but it won all three victories only in a shootout. They still have to play in the semifinals of the elite round this weekend.
Despite the lowered expectations, 2Drots showed a decent match in the first round of the tournament with Torpedo from Vladimir. An equal game, expressed in the balance of possession of the ball and the attacks carried out. The score was 0-0 until the very end of the game. However, they did not delay until the penalty shootout — Boris Fartuna scored the winning goal in the 94th minute of the match, which eventually became victorious for the Muscovites.
In the second round, the Darts had to play away against Cosmos from Dolgoprudny. And although possession was more or less equal again in this match, the Samurai had a huge advantage in their favor in other indicators. For example, the impact statistics look like this: 2:24 in favor of the team from Moscow. Shots on target — 2:8. In dangerous attacks, "2Drots" also has an advantage — 41:50. The game itself turned out to be hot — the teams played as much as two clearances. Boris Fartuna, the author of the Samurai's only goal in this Russian Cup draw, retired at the end of the first half. Cosmos was eliminated at the end of the meeting, which did not affect the outcome in any way. Despite the statistical indicators, football is played by people and the victory was won by the hosts of the meeting. The only goal was scored in the 61st minute from the penalty spot.
After the match, there was talk of poor refereeing in relation to the Moscow team. Outrage was caused by the removal of the Apron and the penalty kick of Cosmos, from which the winning goal was scored. In the episode with the red card of the "darts", the Cosmos football player himself jumped into Boris Fartuna's legs. The penalty was generally strange — defender Nikita Vasiliev barely touched the leg of Semyon Radostev.
2Drots refused to perform any performances this season, preferring to focus on the sports component. It is ironic that they became the only media team with such a position, but at the same time they were eliminated before everyone else.
Amkal
On the contrary, they expected a long campaign from the second grandee of media football. Herman's team is in good condition now. A month before the start of the new Russian Cup season, Amkal won the main trophy of the IFF-6 for the first time in history, so the club approached the professional tournament not only well prepared, but also in a great mood.
Unlike 2Drots, Amcal was originally going to focus specifically on media activity.
Already in the first round, in the match against Kvant Obninsk, the Red-blacks reminded everyone what real media football is and entered the field with a squad almost entirely composed of bloggers. Technoblogger Wylsacom, streamers Paraleevich and Dmitry Lix, rapper Limba, comedians Philip Voronin and Roman Kositsyn, as well as bloggers Vyacheslav Morozov, Andrey Glazunov and the team's old media players Prokop and Forzoresor played for Amkal.
And even with such a squad (even though they didn't play the whole match), Amkal still won 3-1 and went on. Even more noise was created by the fact that the score in the match was opened by a man who had nothing to do with football or even media football at all. It's about twitch streamer Alexander Paradeev. He became the author of the most media goal in the history of the Russian Cup.
The second round was also held at Amkal. But it's not so calm anymore. We played 1-0 against Kaluga. There was a media movement too. The tallest man in Russia, former basketball player Pavel Podkolzin, played for the club. His height is 226 cm, and he naturally became the tallest player to play in the Russian Cup.
In the third round, the bar was rising. Amkal beat Belgorod Salyut. This time there were more goals than in the previous two stages. The match ended with a score of 2:1. Although Belgorod opened the scoring, Herman's team was able to return to the game and win. But the most important thing is that the media was needed again. This time, the oldest player in the history of Russian football took the field for the Muscovites. He became Alexander Medvedev, the former president of Zenit football club. He was 70 years and 28 days old at the time of the match. He beat Vladimir Tumaev by a wide margin, who entered the field in 2005 at the age of 58 for Izhevsk Gazovik.
In the fourth round, which was the last for Amkal this season, Yenisei got in the way. I must say that the "red-blacks" showed themselves more than worthy with the Krasnoyarsk residents. The first half was held on equal terms, the score was not opened, but after the break, the Siberians opened the gate, scoring in the 52nd minute. In the 77th minute, Amkal found the strength to respond, but 10 minutes later the professionals confirmed their class. The result is a 2-1 victory for Yenisei and, as a tradition, the appearance of a media personality on the field. Nikolai Osipov, president of the Football Media League, played for Amkal.
In total, Amkal has a record in each match for this Russian Cup draw: the most media goals, the highest and the oldest players. The status of the Amkal media team was 100% justified and fulfilled the main task of its invitation to the tournament — to entertain the audience.
Broke Boys
The Odintsovo team, unlike Amkal and 2D, played in the Russian Cup for only the second time. The first one was last season, and then we only managed to reach the second round. Now we got to the fourth and lost to the First League team.
"Broki", like "Amkal", tried not to forget that they are primarily a media team. The Yegorov and Raisen club attracted attention with the help of two legends of Russian football — Ari and Smolov.
Fedor joined BB in the second round, and the Brazilian forward joined BB in the third. The reason for Smolov's appearance in the squad was the desire to overtake Arshavin in goals in Russian tournaments. Andrey has 158 of them. Fedor had 156 at the time of joining Broki.
In the first match, they spectacularly beat Orel in their native Odintsovo with a score of 3:2. In the second round, Fedor Smolov joined, who scored a goal in his debut game. Odintsovo in that match, largely thanks to Smolov, defeated the Kursk Avangard in Orel with a score of 1:2 and went on. In the third round, there was the once great Saturn and a 2-0 victory over it in Ramenskoye. Symbolically, both goals in that meeting were scored by the team's star guests Ari and Smolov. Fedor matched Arshavin in goals, and Ari put in a great ball from the center of the field in stoppage time.
The fairytale ended in the fourth round. The one where the First League teams are starting to be added. The Saratov Falcon got in the way of the "broken ones". To be honest, the Brooks failed this game. This is evidenced by the 0 shots on target in their performance, and infrequent approaches to the opponent's goal and, as a result, zero goals scored. Two were missed. The logical departure showed that the Broken Boys are not ready for games with the teams of the second division yet.
