Beglov spoke about the growing tourist flow to St. Petersburg

In 2025, 9.4 million tourists visited St. Petersburg. This is 9.9% more than in the first nine months of the previous year. During the summer months alone, the incoming tourist flow amounted to 6 million people, said Governor Alexander Beglov.

"The results of our tourism industry show that St. Petersburg continues to strengthen its position on the international tourism map. The city remains an important cultural and historical center, a modern metropolis where everyone will find something interesting for themselves. — Alexander Beglov noted. — We continue to work on improving the hospitality infrastructure and improving the quality of service. We are filling the calendar of events with interesting events, opening new tourist attractions, and organizing new routes together with our neighbors in the Northwestern Federal District."

According to Beglov, 93% of the current tourist flow is occupied by domestic tourism. Since the beginning of 2025, over 8.7 million Russian travelers have visited the city — 10.2% more than a year earlier. More than 600,000 foreign guests also visited the northern capital, which is 5.2% more than in the corresponding period of 2024.

55% of foreign tourists are visitors from foreign countries. More than half of them are Chinese citizens. Tourists from Iran, Saudi Arabia and Turkey occupy the second, third and fourth places in terms of the number of visits, respectively. The Republic of Belarus is the leader among the neighboring countries, accounting for about 60% of the incoming flow. This is followed by Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan — about 11% and 9%. In 2025, a significant increase in the number of visits from Turkmenistan was recorded — the flow of tourists almost doubled.

In 2025, Moscow and the Moscow region traditionally occupy the leading positions in the structure of the tourist flow, accounting for about 21% of all trips. The Novgorod and Murmansk regions are in second and third places, with 5% each. About 4% of tourists come from the Pskov region, about the same number come from the Republic of Tatarstan.
