One of the oldest cinemas in Crimea will be restored
In Sevastopol, urgent emergency work was carried out at the Rodina cinema in Balaklava. The building is an object of cultural heritage, it is being prepared for restoration, Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev said on social networks.
"The restoration of the cinema will cost hundreds of millions of rubles, but it will not be budgetary, but private funds from the new owner. For the new owner, this project is a social one," the official said.
Builders have already repaired the leaking roof, fixed emergency structures, installed fencing, installed temporary doors and window shields, and cleared the area of debris.
The building will be brought to the historical appearance of the XX century. After the completion of the work, the cinema will reopen its doors to visitors, writes IA SevastopolMedia.
The Rodina Cinema is the oldest cinema in Crimea, which was opened in 1910 and was called "Montpepos". The cultural center is located on the Balaklava embankment.
