The number of accidents involving children decreased by a third in the Pskov region

In the Pskov region, the number of accidents involving children has decreased by 35.1% since the beginning of 2025. This was announced by Governor Mikhail Vedernikov.

Speaking at a meeting of the interdepartmental regional commission for road safety, the head of the region announced a decrease in all key indicators in this area.

Thus, the total number of accidents decreased by 14.2%, the number of injured in road accidents — by 17.7%, and deaths — by 27.5%. However, Vedernikov noted that the number of injured and dead as a result of accidents is still high, the Pskov News Feed writes.

Earlier, insurers revealed the most dangerous age of drivers. Men aged 40-49, as well as drivers of Lada cars, have become the most dangerous motorists. This was reported in a press release from the VSK Insurance House. 83% of road accidents were caused by men aged 40-49. At the same time, the number of women responsible for road accidents continues to decrease: in 2025, they accounted for only 17% of CTP claims.
