The case of the cemetery with the rootless dead in Kandalaksha has reached court
The Kandalaksha District Court (Murmansk region) has begun considering the case of the mass burial of the rootless dead. More than a hundred graves of residents of a local boarding school for the elderly and disabled have been found on the territory of the municipality.
According to the Bi-port news agency, in October 2024, residents of Kandalaksha told public figures from the regional ONF about a plot with graves of rootless people.
The activists managed to find out that the employees of the company responsible for the burial received 11 thousand rubles for each deceased from the federal budget. However, for the sake of economy, they buried the deceased in smaller pits than required by state standards, used second-hand crosses and transported the bodies in the same coffin.
The activists appealed to the prosecutor's office and the TFR. Later, a criminal case was opened under the article on fraud on an especially large scale using official position.
On September 25, the trial of the case began in the district court. The perpetrators face up to six years in prison.
Earlier, on September 19, it was reported that in Vladivostok, pathologists sewed wax dolls into the body of a deceased person, as a result, they will appear in court because of abuse of him. As established by the bodies of inquiry, the defendants are employees of GBUZ "PK Bureau of SME".
