A resident of Mariinsk, together with his partner, excavated a nuclear missile mine, which was dismantled 30 years ago, in order to turn it over to metal. Alexey Bushuev, an official representative of the Mariinsky City Court of the Kemerovo Region, told Izvestia on September 25.

It is specified that when patrolling forests in the territory of one of the forestry districts of the Siberian Federal District, forest protection officers found a 35-year-old excavator operator from Mariinsk and his partner. With the help of a Hyundai excavator, they excavated a nuclear missile mine that belonged to the Russian Ministry of Defense, which was liquidated more than 30 years ago.

According to the press service of the department, the man was fined 40,000 rubles for using forest plots without special permission. The damage caused amounted to about 3.5 million rubles.

"Due to the fact that there was no voluntary compensation for the damage caused, the leadership of the regional forest protection appealed to the Mariinsky City Court of the Kemerovo region with a demand to recover the entire amount of damage from the Kuzbass resident," the report says.

According to the press service of the department, the damage calculation was found to be correct. A resident of Kuzbass must also pay more than 64 thousand rubles in the form of state duty to the budget of the Mariinsky Municipal District.

Earlier, on June 26, a resident of Novorossiysk tried to send five fossilized teeth and four fragments of a mammoth tusk to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It was clarified that, according to the declaration, there were souvenirs in the parcel.
