AvtoVAZ named the advantages of using Lada in taxis

Taxi industry participants get a number of advantages from purchasing Lada cars instead of foreign cars. A representative of AVTOVAZ told about this during a meeting on taxi localization and carsharing at the working group of aggregators of transport services of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the company's press service reported on September 25.

Work on signing agreements providing for the supply of 4,000 Lada Granta, Vesta, and Aura vehicles to taxi companies in 25 Russian cities is currently in the final stages. As the representative of AvtoVAZ emphasized, new buyers chose Lada after analyzing all the benefits and advantages of buying new localized cars.

These include the low cost of ownership compared to foreign cars during three years of operation (savings of about 30%); the possibility of obtaining significant discounts when purchasing large batches of cars; the low cost of the cars themselves, which reduces the initial investment to purchase or upgrade a taxi fleet.

AvtoVAZ's representative called other advantages of Lada cost-effectiveness and maximum availability of service; customer support programs from the manufacturer, a wide network of authorized dealers and authorized service stations (about 350); the possibility of leasing with favorable conditions.

It was stated that the production plan of AvtoVAZ and other car factories in the country for 2025-2026 will fully meet the demand of the taxi industry, estimated by the meeting participants at 100,000 vehicles per year. AvtoVAZ plans to produce more than 300,000 vehicles this year, and the production plan for next year may be increased in advance to 500-600,000 vehicles, the company said.

Earlier, on September 16, it was reported that due to the law on taxi localization, which will come into force in the spring of 2026, about 200 thousand drivers (20% of the total number) may leave the industry. This assessment is given in the minutes of the meeting of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) on the localization of taxi cars.

Prior to that, on September 12, it became known that in the fall of 2025, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade plans to publish a final list of cars that can be allowed to use in taxis under the new law on localization requirements. The preliminary list includes models of six brands that are produced in the country.
