Hungary and Slovakia are not facing sanctions from Brussels for the purchase of Russian oil and gas, but the countries need to look for alternatives. This was announced on September 25 by the head of the European Diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, in an interview with Sky News.

"No, we are not talking about sanctions <...> They should really use the alternatives provided by their neighbors to get rid of Russian oil and gas, as requested by the President [of the United States Donald] Trump," Callas said.
