On September 24, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin approved a decree on holidays and weekends in the coming year, which will include 247 working days and 118 shorter working days per hour.

Due to the fact that January 3 and 4, 2026 — public holidays — fell on Saturday and Sunday, it was decided to postpone them to Thursday, December 31, and Friday, January 9. As a result of this operation, the New Year's Holiday weekend will last 12 days: it will begin on December 31, 2025, and end on January 11, 2026 inclusive.

In addition, Russians can expect three non-working days from February 21 to 23, on the occasion of Defender of the Fatherland Day, and from May 7 to May 9, on the occasion of International Women's Day. The periods dedicated to Spring and Labor Day and Victory Day are also declared days off — from May 1 to May 3, from May 9 to May 11, respectively. You will also be able to relax on the occasion of Russia Day, from June 12 to 14, and on National Unity Day, November 4.

Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, announced on September 22 that Saturday, November 1, had been declared a working day, and then, from November 2 to November 4, there would be three days off. This was done so that Monday, November 3, would not be the only working day after the usual days off and before long holidays.
