A scandal broke out around the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, because of her secret SMS correspondence with French President Emmanuel Macron. This was announced on September 25 by Hungarian Member of the European Parliament Kinga Gal.

"The European Ombudsman has launched an investigation into her secret text messages to President [of France] Emmanuel. — Editor's note) to Macron about the deal between the EU and MERCOSUR," Gal wrote on the social network X.
