Poland has resumed traffic across the border with Belarus, which was suspended due to the Zapad-2025 exercises. This was announced on September 25 by Belta news agency in its Telegram channel.
"Poland has opened the border with Belarus and started allowing vehicles to enter its territory after the checkpoints reopened," the publication says.
It is specified that the Polish side also opened the border at the railway checkpoint Kuznitsa Bialystotskaya – Grodno.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on September 23 that Poland had decided to open the border with Belarus. He noted that the border was closed in connection with the Zapad-2025 exercises between Russia and Belarus. Tusk stressed that at the moment the immediate reasons for the closure of the border have been exhausted.
Poland closed the border crossings operating on the borders with Belarus on September 12. The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic, Marcin Kervinsky, explained that the adoption of this decision was conditioned by the Russian-Belarusian strategic exercises Zapad-2025.
