The efforts of the United States to force the People's Republic of China (PRC) to abandon the purchase of energy resources from Russia will not affect the contracts between Moscow and Beijing. This was announced on September 24 by Charge d'affaires of the Permanent Mission of China to the World Trade Organization (WTO) Li Yihong.

"No, I don't think so. <...> This is not a new comment from the United States, and China has already responded to it," she told RIA Novosti.

She responded appropriately to the question of whether the US position would affect energy contracts between the two countries. Li Yihong also stressed that Russian-Chinese relations are "comprehensive and deep."

Li Hongzhong, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, speaking at the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum 2025 (WEF 2025) on September 5, confirmed China's readiness to continue strengthening cooperation with the Russian Federation in production and supply chains. He also noted the high dynamics of this process, supported by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese Leader Xi Jinping.
