Nutritionist warned about the dangers of chewing gum
Chewing gum is not always useful, and the main danger lies in abuse. Nutritionist Natalia Pavlyuk warned about this on Wednesday, September 24.
"The body begins to perceive chewing gum as food and secretes digestive enzymes. If you do this all the time, then, of course, problems can start with tooth enamel," she said in an interview with Radio 1.
According to the expert, even sugar-free chewing gum can cause problems due to possible individual reactions.
"Some people are allergic to flavors and colors," the nutritionist warned.
Pavlyuk added that there is no evidence of a direct link between chewing gum and gastritis, and the habit of chewing constantly has not been fully studied. To prevent chewing gum from becoming a risk factor, you need to use it in moderation: 1-2 times a day, the specialist concluded.
