An officer from Yekaterinburg advanced the front line in the DPR by seven km

A native of Yekaterinburg, Guards Senior Lieutenant Denis Mikhailov in August 2024 ensured the advance of the front line for the Russian military seven kilometers ahead in the area of the special military operation in Ukraine on the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). "Thanks to Mikhailov's skilful leadership, the assault company broke through the enemy's deeply entrenched defenses in the settlements of Zhelannoe, Novozhelannoe and Kamyshovka, seizing the enemy's weapons and radio communications equipment. The advance of the assault brigades along the front line was more than seven km," the publication says.

The soldier was wounded, but refused to evacuate. He continued to lead the offensive, identifying enemy firing points. As a result, five enemy machine-gun crews were destroyed, and the assault company gained a foothold in its positions, ensuring that the main forces advanced.
