The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation introduced new MAX messenger services

As part of the Russian Internet Forum (RIF-2025), a meeting of the Public Council of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation was held on September 24, where new services of the national messenger MAX were presented.

It is noted that the main topic was the prospects for the development of the messenger as a secure channel for daily communication with government agencies and companies. At the same time, this platform does not position itself as a replacement for the Gosuslugi portal.

"MAX can help Gosuslugi to be closer to users. Its main goal is to become a single entry point for everyday interaction. The key principle that we, as a regulator, lay down in the development and development of MAX is convenience for citizens, first of all, and when interacting not only with the state, but also with business," said Ivan Parkhomenko, Deputy Director of the Department of E—Government Infrastructure Development at the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.

Rustam Khaibullov, VK's vice president for strategic projects, also clarified that the basic functionality of the messenger is currently provided, where there are personal and group correspondence, calls, videoconferences and file sharing. Against this background, new services are being developed. Among the recent innovations is an electronic diary launched jointly with the Ministry of Digital Development, which allows parents to view their child's grades and schedule inside the app.

"Our main focus is to create the most in-demand, convenient services for citizens in various industries, including education, healthcare, and the MFC, as such an important client office for citizens, culture, tourism, and other industries. So that MAX services surround a person according to all the most frequent and popular scenarios," Khaibullov emphasized.

Banking services and money transfers, travel and ticket purchase services, as well as systems for signing up for various artificial intelligence (AI) services and consultations have become available to users.

In addition, work is underway to develop a digital ID to confirm the status of a student or a large family, for example, when checking into hotels, so, together with the Gosuslugi portal, a service of codes for two-factor authorization has been launched.

On September 18, two-factor authentication became available to users at MAX. To use it, go to the "privacy" section of your profile and add a password as the second way to protect your device. Also on August 29, MAX launched a new feature in the form of instant recording and sending video messages in the format of circles. The maximum recording time for a mug is 60 seconds.
