The RFU commented on the possibility of returning beer sales to stadiums
Currently, the State Duma is not considering the possible return of beer to stadiums. This was announced on September 24 by Maxim Mitrofanov, General Secretary of the Russian Football Union (RFU).
"At the moment, as far as I know, this issue is not on the agenda in the upcoming sessions of the State Duma. <...> We, together with the league, together with the clubs, together with the Union of Russian Brewers, are studying the impact of investments in this industry on football," he said in an interview with TASS.
According to Mitrofanov, the RFU does not believe that beer consumption can lead to "negative effects" in football, given that the matches of the Russian Premier League are held within the framework of the fan identification system and are "one of the safest events available in the Russian Federation."
Roman Chekushov, State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia, said on September 5 that Russia had managed to develop its own beer production, and the authorities' support for this industry deserved attention. According to him, domestic manufacturers will not focus on the problems or successes of colleagues and competitors, but will progressively independently develop the foam industry in the country.
