Participants of the children's golf tournament in Dmitrov told about their impressions

The League of Future Champions school golf tournament was held in Dmitrov. On September 24, the participants of the competition told Izvestia about their impressions.

"This is the eighth golf tournament that we have been organizing since the beginning of 2022. One of the largest tournaments in the Moscow region. <...> We bring together very young children from 7-14 years old and juniors at one tournament," said Maxim Shokun, Vice President of the Moscow Region Golf Federation.

He noted that the Moscow Region Golf Federation hopes to hold this tournament annually. According to Shokun, this is their first competition for children, and such tournaments are no longer held in the country.

"Our coach came to us, they wrote to the group, and I decided to try golf. I liked it very much. And so I became the champion of Russia. We need to think about the good things, not worry — the most important thing is to score," said Timofey, a student at Chekhov's school No. 1.

As Nora, a student of Lyuberets school No. 54, noted, it is interesting for her to try to get into the holes and communicate with the team. The girl also pointed out the pleasant atmosphere at the tournament.

In June, Alexey Dyumin, Assistant to the President of Russia and Secretary of the State Council, held a meeting of the working group on the preparation of the autumn Sports Council under the President of the Russian Federation. According to him, the state and society should create all the necessary conditions to ensure the accessibility of sports for children and to improve physical fitness among young people.
