Earlier, on September 23, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation demanded that almost 100 real estate objects worth about 9 billion rubles be seized from Viktor Momotov, chairman of the Council of Judges. According to the source, the judge legalized 11 real estate objects that had been transferred to Marchenko.
On the same day, Momotov appealed to the commission of the Council of Judges and asked for a review of media reports that he had violated anti-corruption legislation. The Chairman of the Council stated that he was ready to provide all the necessary documents.
According to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Momotov is actually a co-owner of the Marton hotel chain, the total cost of which is estimated at about 9 billion rubles. He has served as Chairman of the Council of Judges since 2016, and before that was Secretary of the Plenum of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation.
