The countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) have begun to modernize the unified air defense system (air defense). This was announced on September 24 by Secretary of the Council of Defense Ministers of the Commonwealth member states Yuri Dashkin.

"The agreements that have taken place are already being implemented, all the funds that are allocated are being used for their intended purpose," he said in an interview with TASS.

According to Dashkin, the CIS countries regularly inform the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Council of Defense Ministers about this.

He added that a large number of training sessions and joint exercises, both real and command-and-staff, are currently being conducted.

Dashkin also noted that the CIS shares "absolutely unique experience in the use of air defense forces" in order to provide "reliable cover" for the commonwealth members.

"So that the peoples of our states can work and work in peace," Dashkin concluded.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on June 21 that in the rapidly changing international situation, it is necessary to strengthen cooperation between the special services of the CIS countries. According to him, it is important to increase cooperation between law enforcement agencies, to conduct a constant exchange of experience and relevant information.
