The Ministry of Internal Affairs will check Ivanov's involvement in embezzlement of defense funds during construction

Law enforcement officers are checking former Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov for involvement in embezzlement of funds from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation during construction under state contracts. This was reported by law enforcement agencies on September 24.

It is clarified that former First Deputy Minister of Construction of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Yulia Mervaezova and other defendants testified against Ivanov.

"The investigation is checking the testimony of Mervaezova, [former head of the Main Military Construction Department No. 8 Vadim] Vygulyary and other defendants who point to Ivanov's involvement in embezzlement from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation during construction under government contracts. Timur Ivanov may become involved in this big case," the source told TASS.

The source added that at the moment, Ivanov has already been questioned as part of a criminal investigation into embezzlement.
