At the end of summer, Georgia's wine exports to Russia dropped to the lowest level since April this year. This was reported on September 24 by the RIA Novosti news agency, citing data from the Georgian Customs Service.

In August, Russian companies imported Georgian wine worth $13.7 million for a place of $16.8 million a month earlier, which was the lowest value since April 2025.

It is noted that Georgia has also reduced wine exports to other countries. Despite this, Russia remained the main consumer of Georgian wine. Poland came in second place, which in August bought wine worth a total of $1.4 million, followed by Ukraine, which imported alcohol worth $986.3 thousand.

The article emphasizes that since the beginning of 2025, Russia has imported wine from Georgia for $103.3 million, which is a quarter less than last year. The share of the Russian market in Georgian exports for the first eight months was 62.4% compared to 69.2% last year.

Earlier, on June 22, it became known that in May 2025, Russia increased wine imports from Georgia by 3.4 times in annual terms. It was noted that Georgian supplies in late spring increased to $17.15 million against $5 million a year earlier. It is reported that last month Russia accounted for about 66% of all Georgian wine exports.
