The Russian Foreign Ministry called the video of Zakharova commenting on Tokayev's meeting a gross forgery.

The video, which has spread online and allegedly contains a comment by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, about the meetings of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the UN General Assembly, is a fake. This was announced on September 24 by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"A deepfake is being distributed in Kazakhstani online communities using footage from an interview with an official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry. This is a crude and cynical fake, purposefully planted in the Kazakh digital field," the agency said in a message on its Telegram channel.
