Czech biathlete Jan Vanya died in a car accident at the age of 19. This was reported on September 23 by the Blesk portal with reference to the Czech Biathlon Federation.
"Yang Wan first devoted himself to biathlon as an athlete, later he ended his career and started coaching young children. He recently became a member of the service team of the Czech national team and was going to study coaching at Masaryk University in Brno," the publication says.
According to the newspaper, the athlete was hit by a car when he was riding a bicycle near the village of Crone in the Hrudim district. Rescuers provided first aid to the victim, however, despite the efforts of the doctors, Yang Wan died from his injuries.
On September 15, the forward of the hockey club (HC) "Allen Americans" Orka Weisblatt died in an accident at the age of 25. According to HC head coach Steve Martinson, Weisblatt was not just an experienced player, he was a forward who changed the course of the game.
