Sobyanin announced the start of the heating season in Moscow
Starting from September 24, heating will be turned on in Moscow, the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, said on the MAX channel.
The city is gradually approaching the winter season, the mayor wrote. "These days we do not expect an abnormal transition to cold weather, but at the same time, the air temperature is starting to decrease," Sobyanin said.
According to the mayor, first of all, heat will be supplied to kindergartens, schools and hospitals, then to residential buildings. Sobyanin stressed that it would take several days to turn on the heating at all facilities.
In total, more than 74,000 facilities, including over 34,000 residential buildings, were prepared for the autumn-winter period in Moscow. As part of the regional overhaul program, central heating systems have been updated in more than 600 residential buildings, the mayor noted.
