Residents of the Pskov region were told the reasons for painting the gas pipeline

Maxim Ksenofontov, Deputy General Director of Gazprom Gas Distribution Pskov, chief engineer, told on the air of PLN FM radio (102.6 FM) why the gas pipeline is being painted. The issue of safety comes first.

"First of all, it's isolation. We insulate steel underground gas pipelines. Also for external gas pipelines. Painting itself is a protection against corrosion, because it is the depletion of metal that leads to leakage," the specialist explained.

According to him, the aesthetic component is also important. Ksenofontov added that a lot of people turn when they notice an ugly gas pipeline on some facade.

As the engineer noted, in 2025 Gazprom employees painted about 5 km of gas pipelines, the Pskov News Feed writes.

Earlier, Izvestia wrote that the Federation Council considered an important issue of the final stage of gasification of the regions — the preparation of houses. The senators propose to legislate the obligations of citizens to prepare facilities for connection, as well as strengthen social support measures for low-income categories.
