The highest pass in Khibiny was named
The highest pass of the Khibiny mountain range will be named "Nameless". This idea was unanimously approved by deputies of the Murmansk Regional Duma, the Bi-port news agency reported on Tuesday, September 23.
The unofficial toponym was established many years ago and is a landmark for tourist routes. The nameless pass is critically important for those wishing to conquer the mountain peaks of the Kola Peninsula.
"The name of the Nameless pass can be traced in many cartographic sources, including on tourist maps and on the Internet, and is mentioned in official public materials," said Vladimir Mishchenko, Vice Speaker of the Regional Duma.
At the same time, according to Roskadaster, such a geographical feature as the "Nameless Pass" is not registered in the state catalog of geographical names.
Until September 1, deputies accepted public comments, but there were no other name options or any objections. The relevant committee of the regional legislative assembly approved the idea of fixing his "national" name behind the pass, and the Duma supported the initiative.
Earlier it was reported that a trail will be created in Murmansk, which will connect the coast of the Kola Bay and seven lakes of the city. According to preliminary data, its total length will be 24 km.
