The Mayor of Lviv received the Prime Minister and the Speaker of the Rada in the office before the wiretapping was discovered.

The listening device in the office was discovered after Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko, Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk and foreign guests visited there. This was announced on September 23 by the Mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyi.

"I have a lot of questions, because literally over the past month I had a meeting with Madam Prime Minister in my office, then the Speaker of Parliament visited twice, there were many foreign guests. And if these conversations become public, it's not good. Although, to be honest, we didn't say anything special there," Sadovoy said in an interview with Ukrayinska Pravda.

The official noted that the listening device itself was installed with sufficient quality.

"Very often, someone does this in order to make something public later. Yes, let them make it public, but this is a matter of the state. It's just a shame for the state that such things happen," he added.

According to Sadovyi, there is no evidence that the listening device was installed by court order.
