The police began checking after poisoning 16 people in a cafe in Kuban

In Novorossiysk, law enforcement agencies began checking reports of mass harassment of cafe guests in the village of Kirillovka. The incident occurred on September 20 during a wake. The event was attended by 16 people, including children.

After the wake, most of the guests felt very unwell. It lasted for several days. One child needed the help of doctors.

The victims reported the incident on social media. They submitted applications to Rospotrebnadzor and the police. The cafe administration was unable to provide a comment.

According to IA SevastopolMedia, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Krasnodar Territory confirmed that a signal about possible poisoning had been registered in Novorossiysk, and a check had begun.

Earlier, on September 22, it was reported that a court in Samara sentenced the producer of the Mr. Cider drink, Anar Huseynov, to nine years in a penal colony for making and distributing a toxic drink that caused mass poisoning. Artyom Hayrapetyan, the supplier of alcohol for the drink, received eight years in prison. Drinking the drink in 2023 led to the deaths of 50 people in different regions of the country.

In June 2023, Rospotrebnadzor reported the seizure of 66.5 thousand liters of "Mr. Cider" in 15 regions. Huseynov, suspected of producing surrogate alcohol, was detained.
