The case of arson of more than 20 cars in Vladivostok has reached court

The materials of the criminal case on the arson of more than 20 cars in a parking lot in Vladivostok have been sent to the court. The arson mastermind has been arrested.

As the press service of the judicial system of Primorsky Krai told IA PrimaMedia, the incident occurred in March 2025 on Pihtovaya Street. The investigation found that the perpetrator of the arson was preparing to commit a crime and acted with a group of people in prior agreement.

According to updated information, the fire destroyed 22 vehicles. Residents of nearby houses woke up early in the morning from a deafening explosion. Later, the customer and the performers were detained.

Investigators found out that two local residents had set fire to a parking lot for a fee. Taking a canister of gasoline, they arrived at the address, doused the car specified by the customer, set fire to the glove and left it in the car. The fire quickly spread to neighboring cars.

According to the investigator, the organizer wanted to help a friend get out of debt, hired performers who set fire to the debtor's car.

Earlier it was reported that insurance companies have recorded a sharp increase in claims of damage to cars by third parties. Most often, this concerns damage to bodywork, theft of mirrors and other parts in the parking lot, and arson is also complained about. The number of such cases increased by almost one and a half times in 2025.
