Nutritionist, Candidate of medical Sciences Elena Solomatina told on Tuesday, September 23, about the benefits of berries. They contain vitamins, antioxidants, trace elements and other substances. In addition, they help protect the body's cells from aging, contribute to the prevention of cancer, and are important for the beauty of skin, hair, and nails.

According to the expert, the largest amount of polyphenols and anthocyanins, which reduce the level of inflammation and protein reactivity, is found in blueberries, blackberries and blueberries — those berries that are colored dark blue, dark purple.

"If we are talking about benzoic acid and bacterial properties, then lingonberries and cranberries are the leaders here. If we ask about salicylates, these are raspberries and strawberries," she said in an interview with Radio 1.

The nutritionist added that each berry is rich in carotenoids and healthy oils, which are found both in the flesh and in the bones.

"Cherries and cherries contain a lot of melatonin, which is not present in such quantities in other berries. It is a hormone of sleep and recovery. Berries also contain minerals involved in degenerative processes, that is, in aging and life," Solomatina explained.

The use of berries is the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, dementia, oncology, diabetes and so on, she concluded.

Earlier that day, Vera Serezhina, an expert at the LabQuest medical company, told Izvestia that when there is a shortage of iron, the diet is adjusted in favor of products with heme iron - it is better absorbed and fills the deficit faster. Reliable sources: lean beef and veal, liver and kidneys, oily fish (e.g. mackerel, herring) and egg yolks.

Vegetable sources of iron — whole-grain cereals (buckwheat, oatmeal, bran), legumes (beans, peas), beets, carrots, potatoes, spinach, greens, sea cabbage and wild mushrooms — give an additional effect, but their iron (non-heme) is absorbed worse. To increase its bioavailability, combine these foods with vitamin C sources: citrus fruits, berries, cranberries, cabbage, and fresh herbs.

The day before, nutritionist, professor of the Department of Polyclinic Therapy and Family Medicine, MD Nikolai Kirilenko said that cranberries are rich in vitamins and have anti-inflammatory effects, reports RT.

On September 20, the Moscow City News agency reported that dogwood and plum appeared on the shelves of Moscow weekend fairs. It is specified that dogwood is called the berry of longevity.

On September 19, Solomatina said that rosehip should not be brewed with boiling water, as the vitamin C inside the berry will break down and will not benefit the body, writes Moscow 24.

Nutritionist Ekaterina Guzman said that sea buckthorn is one of the leaders in the content of vitamin C, which strengthens the immune system.

In turn, Harvard scientists analyzed data from 105,000 Americans who have been monitored for more than 30 years, and found out which diets reduce the risk of dangerous diseases and prolong life for decades. 360.ru .
