Lionel Messi congratulates Ousmane Dembele on receiving the Golden Ball

On September 23, Argentine footballer Lionel Messi congratulated Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) striker Ousmane Dembele on receiving the prestigious Golden Ball award.

"Great Moustache! Congratulations, I'm very happy for you. You deserve it!" wrote Messi in the comments under a post on Dembele's page on the Instagram social network (recognized in the Russian Federation as an extremist organization, its activities are prohibited in Russia).

Vladimir Leonov, Minister of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan, spoke about Kazan's right to host the first match of the football season in the country again and the chances of hosting the European Aquatics Championships in 2028.

L'Equipe magazine reported on September 22 that Dembele received the Golden Ball award. In the 2024/25 season, together with his football club, he won the Champions League, the Super Cup and the French Cup and reached the final in the Club World Cup. The footballer scored 35 goals and provided 14 assists in 53 matches for the club.
