Russian Washington Capitals forward Alexander Ovechkin has once again entered the top 50 active players in the National Hockey League (NHL) according to TSN. This was reported on the TV channel's website on September 22.

"After rising to number 49, Ovechkin had a great season, scoring 44 goals and 73 points in 65 games. His 44 goals helped him surpass Gretzky and become the NHL's top scorer in history," the publication says.

Ovechkin is ranked 49th. In 44th place was the Russian goalkeeper of the Florida Panthers, Sergey Bobrovsky, who was ranked 39th in a similar list last year.
