In Khabarovsk, the police are conducting an investigation into telephone fraud. A local resident lost more than 1.5 million rubles.

According to a 27-year-old resident of Krasnoflotsky district, he received a call from an unknown number with a proposal to extend the contract for the provision of communication services. The man dictated the code from an SMS message to an "employee of a cellular company." Soon, the Khabarovsk resident began receiving other calls from scammers who posed as employees of various departments. They convinced the victim that several loans had been issued in his name, AmurMedia news agency writes.

The man agreed to transfer personal savings to "secure" accounts, and also issued a loan for 385 thousand rubles. A criminal case has been opened on this fact.

In the Irkutsk region, local residents gave fraudsters 14 million rubles in three days.
