The United States and Kazakhstan have agreed on a $4 billion locomotive deal. This was announced on September 22 by United States Secretary of Commerce Howard Latnik.

"Today, after the telephone conversation between the President [of the United States Donald] Trump and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev have signed the largest agreement in history on the supply of locomotives," he wrote on the social network X (former. Twitter).

Latnik stressed that this deal is not only a significant success, but also an example of using American innovative technologies that support thousands of jobs in Texas and Pennsylvania, as well as strengthening the partnership between the United States and Kazakhstan.

He also added that the locomotives will provide communication between Europe and Asia, connecting the Middle Corridor, which is based on American technologies.

On July 8, Kazakhstan sent proposals and initiatives to the White House administration to improve the terms of mutual trade. It was noted that the aim of the proposal was to achieve agreed solutions on market access and terms of trade.
