Tyumen will introduce a tourist tax starting from January 1, 2026. This was reported to the Tyumen City Duma on September 22.

"Tax rates will increase gradually: in 2026 — 2%, in 2027 — 3%, in 2028 — 4%, starting in 2029 — 5% of the tax base. It will be calculated as the cost of the service without taking into account the amounts of the tax and VAT itself," RBC reports the text of the statement.

It is specified that if the bill is adopted, the budget revenue of the Tyumen region will increase from 45 to 90 million rubles in 2029. This solution will create a stable source of income for the region.

Hotels, hostels, recreation centers and sanatoriums located in the region will be required to pay the tourist tax.

In August, Olga Tsen, deputy head of the city department of the Federal Tax Service, reported that St. Petersburg received 528 million rubles due to the collection of a tourist tax. This indicator has increased 2.3 times.
