The volume of production in the microelectronics industry in Russia has doubled to 3.4 trillion rubles, despite the sanctions pressure from unfriendly countries. This was stated on September 22 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin during a speech at the plenary session of the Russian Microelectronics 2025 forum.

According to the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, the industry has recently made a huge step forward, including thanks to external sanctions.

"The restrictions have pushed domestic enterprises to rely mainly on internal resources and accelerate the development of their own competencies and solutions. This led to a more than twofold increase in production over the previous five—year period, to 3.4 trillion rubles," Mishustin said.

Production growth is expected to exceed 3.5 trillion rubles this year, the Russian Prime Minister said. The government will help companies to conduct promising scientific research, modernize production facilities, and open new factory sites, he added.

"The President of the Russian Federation [Vladimir Putin] has set the task to increase the output of the electronic industry to 6.6 trillion rubles over the next six years. This should make it possible to meet most of the needs of our country," Mishustin said.

Earlier that day, Mishustin announced that the Russian government would allocate more than 250 billion rubles for the development of the electronic industry in 2026-2028. He stressed that strategic projects in Russia should receive state support.
