Starting from September 22, the Russian currency is likely to continue trading in the established September range of 80-86 rubles per dollar, 93.50–101 rubles per euro and 11.20–12.10 rubles per yuan with a tendency to a gradual weakening, according to Spartak Sobolev, head of the Alfa-Forex Investment Strategy Research Department. He told Izvestia about this on September 22.

On September 22, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation set the exchange rate of the American currency at 83.5 rubles, the European currency at 98.8 rubles, and the Chinese currency at 11.7 rubles. At the same time, according to the Moscow Stock Exchange, on September 1, the yuan is trading at 11.5 rubles.

"The end of the trading month and quarter will traditionally support the market against the background of tax payments, pressure is forming the external geopolitical background and the growing interest from importers after the Central Bank rate cut," Sobolev said.

On September 19, Andrey Goloshchapov, CEO of EUS, named several possible scenarios for the ruble exchange rate in October. The first, optimistic option assumes that if the authorities take harsh economic measures, the exchange rate will be 85-95 rubles per dollar.
