The fire season has ended in the Murmansk region. This is reported by the Bi-port news agency with reference to the relevant order signed by the head of the regional Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology.

The cancellation decision came into force on September 19, 2025. Thus, the fire season in the region lasted four months.

During this time, 66 fires with a total area of more than 1.4 thousand hectares were eliminated in the forests. According to the news agency, inspectors entered the forests more than 1.5 thousand times, which helped prevent at least 80 more accidents.

The fire season was in effect from May 20.

Earlier in September, the Federal Forestry Agency told Izvestia that in early autumn, a high risk of forest fires was recorded in southern Russia, the North Caucasus, the Volga region, and parts of the Far East and Siberia. Meteorologists note that this situation is not typical for the Far East.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
