Rosstandart has agreed on a recall for banned trucks
Rosstandart has agreed on a revocable program of measures to eliminate documentary violations, due to which the vehicle type approval was previously suspended for Sitrak trucks of the ZZHS type. The press service of the department reported this on September 22.
The program is provided by Sinotrak Rus, which is the official representative of Sitrak and Howo brands in the Russian market.
"The agreed action program includes the elimination of documentary violations identified during the inspection of Sitrak trucks of the ZZHS type. In this regard, the presentation of vehicles in service to official dealerships is not required, " explained Rosstandart.
The agency clarified that the process of coordinating action programs for other cargo vehicles is also underway, which previously had their OTTS suspended.
On July 30, it became known that a number of Chinese truck models of Dongfeng, Foton, FAW and Sitrak brands were banned in Russia. The reason for the ban was violations of mandatory requirements identified by Rosstandart, which "pose a significant danger to the health and life of both drivers of vehicles and other road users, including pedestrians."
Such violations included non-compliance with mandatory requirements regarding the effectiveness of the braking system, the noise level of a moving truck, the identification of controls and the installation of an emergency call device.
