The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were unable to break through to the encircled units of the 57th and 127th brigades in the Kharkov direction and were forced to retreat to their original positions, suffering losses. This was reported on September 22 by the TASS news agency, citing sources in Russian law enforcement agencies.

"During the day, the enemy twice tried to unblock the combat groups of the 57th and 127th brigades surrounded in the forest. He had no success, retreated to his starting positions with losses," the agency's source emphasized.

Earlier it was noted that the 57th separate motorized infantry brigade's counterattack attempt was unsuccessful, and later Russian fighters blocked part of the 57th and 127th separate heavy mechanized brigades in the amount of up to a company.
