The widow of political activist Charlie Kirk announced the forgiveness of her husband's killer at a farewell ceremony at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, broadcast by NBC News.

"I forgive him because Christ forgave. And that's what Charlie would do," she said.

The widow added that Kirk wanted to "save young people like the one who took his life."

Kirk died on September 10 after an assassination attempt during a speech at the University of Utah. He played a key role in Donald Trump's victory in the 2024 election. The suspect, Tyler Robinson, was charged with capital murder on September 16. The next day, he appeared in court for the first time via video link, uttering only one word, introducing himself at the request of the judge.
