The US Armed Forces liquidated a boat with drugs off the coast of the Dominican Republic

The US armed forces attacked a speedboat carrying drugs off the coast of the Dominican Republic. As a result of a joint operation with local authorities, 377 packages with prohibited substances were seized, the newspaper Diario Libre reported on September 21.

"After receiving the intelligence, we, together with the Southern Command of the US Armed Forces and the Dominican services, discovered and neutralized a ship carrying about 1,000 kg of drugs," said Carlos Devers, an official representative of the Dominican Drug Control Administration.

The operation was carried out near the island of Beata in the province of Pedernales. During the explosion of the boat, about 60 packages of drugs were burned, the rest were seized for further investigation. The Dominican Anti-Drug Administration has begun checking the origin of the cargo and the persons involved in its transportation.
